Walter has a 25 year background in sales and marketing and he's had the opportunity to start up two different businesses.  His first company was (and still is) Merrick Display Systems (trade show display systems) and his second company is Global Internet (ISP services).

I started in BNI back in 1995 when I joined a chapter as a member representing my Internet business.  I found that BNI was a great way to grow the business and I became a real believer in the “Givers Gain” philosophy and the processes in BNI.  I always enjoyed speaking to groups of people about various things so when the opportunity to be come a Director in 2003 came along, I jumped at the chance.  This was going to be my opportunity to help others in BNI become as successful as I was in my chapter.  Following the “Givers Gain” theme, there were two things that I knew I wanted to do.  The first was to help new members get going in BNI by helping new chapters get up and running.  Second, and right along those lines, I want to help new members get up and running in BNI by teaching MSP.  Back when I started in BNI, we didn’t have MSP so it took a long while to “get it”.  I feel that by being an MSP trainer, I’m helping the new members, just joining BNI, get up to speed so they can really start making the most from their participation in their BNI Chapters.
